• Xác định đúng thời cần dùng: đã là quá khứ, hay hiện tại hoàn thành (now – before) hay tương lai + ĐỌC KĨ phần chú thích trên map để viết cho đúng
• Cũng giống như các dạng khác bạn nên chia thân bài thành 2 nhóm đối tượng: thay đổi lớn như xây mới + thay đổi nhỏ như đổi chỗ, đổi quy mô & không thay đổi, hoặc nhóm cơ sở vật chất chính (buildings) + nhóm phụ (roads, car parks, entrance …) hoặc chia theo trục chính của bản đồ thành 2 phần (ví dụ 2 bên của Main Road)
• Cần nêu được mục đích của thay đổi

• The stairs to the first floor have been made smaller to create room for a lift.
• A café has been set up in the original place of the non-fiction section.
• This has enabled customers to enjoy refreshments while reading books in the store.

• The northern part developed primarily to the east of the High Street, with the shops being removed and an apartment complex being erected in their place.

MAP HYDRO ELECTRIC DAM

The illustrations demonstrate the transformation of a mountainous area after a hydroelectric dam was built on a river running through it in 2010. Overall, the construction had drastically changed the local landscape with the addition of entirely new facilities.

In 1990, the northwest side of the river was covered with wild forest that was home to rare species of fauna and flora. There was also an ancient monument hidden inside the jungle. On the east side, there used to be vast irrigated farmlands and a group of villages.

By 2010, however, the whole land had been cleared for the construction of a reservoir and a dam. In the original place of the villages, a modern hotel was erected to accommodate tourists. There was also boats on the lake for visitors to enjoy a cruise trip. The villagers had relocated to the southern area of the dam. Numerous transmission towers (electricity towers) had also been constructed along the downstream banks of the river.

Plan of an art gallery BEFORE – NOW (nhóm chính: exhibition + nhóm phụ: entrance)

The illustrations compare the plan of an art gallery’s ground floor in 2005 with its current layout. Overall, the floor has changed significantly over the period. Major developments involve the addition of a temporary exhibition space, a modern lift, vending machines and special facilities to accommodate the needs of children and people with disabilities.

In 2005, the gallery had 4 permanent exhibition rooms but the fourth has now been converted into a temporary exhibition space and an interactive area for children. The café has been closed and refreshments are now served by vending machines in the original place of the gallery office which has been removed.

Several alterations can also be found in the entrance and entrance hall. First, a ramp has been set up by the entrance steps (stairs) to make the gallery wheelchair-friendly. Second, the positions of the reception desk and the entrance hall have been switched. Finally, the stairs to the first floor have been made smaller to create room for a lift at the end of the hall.

PLAN BOOKSTORE (nhóm chính book sections + nhóm phụ café)

The illustrations show the changes in the plan/layout of a bookstore between 2000 and the present. Overall, the store has been redesigned to increase its spaciousness and make room for an added service, the café. Most of the changes were made to the left-hand side of the floor.

In 2000, fiction occupied the longest and largest section on the left of the entrance. That area, however, has been divided into four smaller sections for displaying not only this kind of book but also three other genres, namely art, cooking and nonfiction. This has resulted in larger isles and increased visual exposure, allowing shoppers to find their desired items more easily. Particularly, there is no space dedicated to books on hobbies now.

With a view to enhancing shoppers’ experiences, a café has been set up in the original place of the nonfiction section. In addition, there are now several tables in the area previously reserved for art, cookery and hobbies books. This has enabled customers to enjoy refreshments while reading books right in the store.
