• Do you think people can be kind to each other?

Sure. It’s easy to be nice and polite to other people. Actually, I believe everyone is born with a kind heart. Over time, due to their circumstances and education background, they might become rude, selfish or even cruel.

• Do you think people can learn to be kind?

Definitely. Kindness is a choice after all. If a child is well-brought up, they would become a kind-hearted individual. It’s therefore crucial to teach children essential moral values such as honesty, politeness and gratitude at an early age, probably at 2.

• On what occasions do people usually apologize to others? 

Well, typically people would say sorry when they make a mistake, like hurting someone (both physically and mentally), damaging others’ belongings, being late or breaking their promises, such sort of things.

• Do people in your country like to say “sorry”?

Sadly, no. Most people only apologize when they admit their mistakes. Several people might do something wrong and just get away with it. I’m not sure why they do so. Perhaps they are afraid of losing face if they say sorry. Perhaps, they weren’t taught about apology & politeness or maybe their parents have set a bad example for them.

• Do you think people should apologize for anything wrong they do?

Absolutely. They should take full responsibility for their actions. This is not just a sign of good manner but also a crucial tool for self-improvement. When people admit their mistake, they will remember it and are less likely to commit it again, thus becoming a better person each day.
