  • Why do some companies have uniforms or a dress code? (quy tắc về ăn mặc)

Well, uniforms are essential to certain jobs such as police or firefighters as they can be recognised easily. For manual jobs, safety uniforms and protective gears help prevent potential injuries and dirt. Those who work in the office tend to follow a formal dress code, like a pair of trousers and shirts for males and a skirt and blouse for females. Particularly, a number of businesses make uniforms an integral part of their corporate identity, which may set them apart from their competitors and project a professional image of the company or organisation in the eyes of its customers.

  • Should employees have a say about their uniforms?

Definitely, they should be allowed to give their opinions on this. Since they usually spend a long time at work every day, it’s crucial for them to feel comfortable with what they wear. This helps them concentrate better, become more productive and be confident in their ability. Also, if staffs are listened to, they might feel more satisfied and appreciated. Employee satisfaction provides enormous benefits for both sides I believe.

  • Why do students wear uniform?

In my view, the most significant reason is to create equality. When wearing uniforms, poor students tend to feel less humiliated and embarrassed about their family background and thus focus more on study. Another reason is that uniforms cultivate a sense of belonging and unity in a school, eventually creating a favourable learning environment for all students.
