Do people in your country often visit others’ home?
Well, the way I see it, people in the countryside tend to visit their relatives and neighbours more frequently than those living in cities. This is mainly because rural dwellers probably place a far greater emphasis on the sense of community and social connection. A further point to mention is that older grownups seem to be more genuinely fond of paying a visit to other families than young people who usually do so out of necessity or obligation.
Do they do so during holidays or special occasions?
That’s a tough question really. I have no strong feelings one way or another. While holidays and traditional festivals allow people to enjoy ample time for family reunion or social gatherings, special occasions like birthdays, weddings or housewarming parties can also offer a compelling reason for visiting others in their circle. It’s hard to give a satisfactory answer to this type of question you know.
What do they often bring when they visit others?
Well, it depends on the occasion of the visit I mentioned earlier. As for special events, it’s crucial for the guest to prepare an appropriate gift such as flowers, fruits or home decor items. For regular visits, I believe food, especially local specialties tend to be the ultimate choice of gift or they can come over empty-handed. I guess no hosts would feel offended by this.
How are houses in the countryside different from those in the city?
Undoubtedly, there are a number of underlying differences between them. The most obvious distinction might be that housing units in rural areas tend to be constructed on a larger area of land. This enables its occupants to enjoy greater living space as well as green space like a private garden. Another significant difference would probably be in their architectural styles. While houses in rural areas could be built in a variety of design, typically as a detached unit, their urban counterparts, especially apartment buildings, appear to be more uniform.
What are some criteria for choosing a place to live?
Of course, different people have different set of priorities when it comes to choosing their desired place to reside. I suppose the most common criterion might be the cost, whether it is within their budget or not. If the mortgage or rent is too high, the house could place a huge financial burden on its occupants, leading to unnecessary stress. Apart from this, the location could also be a deciding factor in choosing a residence. A house within close proximity to work and essential public facilities would definitely be well preferred over others.
