What kinds of good news do people often share with others?
I suppose people often share good news when they obtain major achievements like getting admitted into a prestigious university, landing a dream job, getting promoted or winning a prize. They might do so to spread great joy, encourage others or simply seek approval. Additionally, people also announce wonderful news when they are going to celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime milestone like a wedding or the birth of their child.
How can people in Vietnam share good news?
I reckon that the most common way for us to do so is to post a status update on social media. This is super convenient because people can reach hundreds or even thousands of friends and family members on their friend lists at once. Another preferred method is to talk face-to-face or on the phone. This allows them to see or hear the exciting responses of those receiving the news.
Is it good to share good news on social media?
Unquestionably, everything has two sides to it. As I mentioned, sharing news on social media platforms is handy and not as time-consuming or effort-consuming as other methods. At the same time, announcing good news online might reduce real-life social interactions and is somehow not as formal and meaningful as sharing it in person on a one-to-one basis. Obviously, smiley or shocking emoticons on Facebook cannot replace people’s precious smiles, hugs and tears of joy in real life.
Why do some people don’t like to share their good news?
That’s an interesting one. I believe quiet people rarely share good news with others. First of all, they are usually very humble and even extraordinary achievements are no big deal to them. Besides, they tend to shy away from the spotlight because they don’t crave attention or approval of others. They just prefer to keep it to themselves.
Are there any differences in the way people share good news today and in the past?
I’d say that 50 or 20 years ago, people used to share good news face to face or through the phone which was undoubtedly the best way to stay in touch with friends and family who were living far away from them. During the last decade, however, the advancement of the Internet has transformed the way people communicate. Now, posting on social media, texting or video calling have become the most favorite ways to spread good news.
