Well, I’m not a big reader (an avid reader) but I do like reading. A fascinating book gives me a chance to step away from the real world and enter into another one for a while.
How often do you read?
My work involves quite a lot of reading and searching for information every day. Reading in leisure time is not really my cup of tea but I tend to pick up a book whenever I feel stressed out or get stuck in life.
Do you usually read for leisure or for work purposes?
Well, I have to do a considerable amount of reading as part of my job, so I probably read more for work. I do have a book for enjoyment on the go from time to time though.
What kinds of books do you like to read?
I read all sorts of things, including novels, newspapers, magazines, and online articles. I used to read novels for pleasure but now I am a big fan of personal development books.
What was your favourite book or story when you were a child?
The first book that I remember really enjoying was The Diary of a Cricket, a classic novel for children in Vietnam. It took me only a few hours to finish because I liked it so much that I couldn’t put it down.
Do you like E-books? (= electronic book)
Well, I prefer printed books because my eyes get tired quickly when reading from a screen. However, E-books make it much easier to store and share knowledge so I like them too.
Do you ever read professional books?
My major at university was business management and I did read several books on accounting and marketing. I’m not sure if those are counted as professional books.
Do you think it’s important that children read regularly?
Definitely. I think reading is possibly the most important skill for children to learn and to keep as a lifetime habit. The ability to read opens the door to higher education and a fulfilling life.
