- Do you think managers should be strict?
I don’t think so. A friendly, open and supportive working environment is vital to any businesses. Managers can be demanding but shouldn’t be strict or harsh. They need to be able to get along well with employees and let them have autonomy to take initiatives and be innovative in their work.
- Do you think managers need training?
Obviously. Some might be born with special traits that make them a leader. However, in order to become a great leader or manager, they need to go through training. It doesn’t have to be professional training at schools though. As long as they keep an open mind to new knowledge and wisdom and are willing to put them into practice, sooner or later they would master management and leadership skills.
- What are some qualities of a good manager?
Well, first and foremost, it’s essential for them to be approachable and good at listening. When employees feel listened to, they will be more confident to share their opinions and take initiatives. Second, employers should lead through examples and encouragement, not by order or command. And finally, they must be caring and supportive. It’s crucial to pay close attention to their staffs’ well-being and make sure they are satisfied, appreciated and motivated at work.
- Should employers be friendly to their employees?
Absolutely. It’s essential for them to build a close relationship with their employees. An approachable boss seems less daunting and more trustworthy, making their staff feel confident to share ideas and thoughts. Obviously, an open and effective communication flow is vital to any business’ success.
