I have been living in Hanoi for a long time so traffic congestion is nothing new to me. Actually, it has become a part of our daily commute. However, I do remember one horrible traffic jam I got stuck in over around twelve years ago.  

Back then, I was in my final year at university. It was such a hard time for me because I had to juggle between my graduation thesis and finding a job to prepare myself for the world of work. I had applied for a part time job and made it to the final round. On the day of my interview, I got up super early and even departed 15 mins earlier than planned. However, little did I know that several streets in my city were blocked for a special political event on that day. I had to take another road but it was also packed with people. I ended up being stuck in the traffic for nearly an hour.

I still remember how awful the smell of exhaust fumes was and how incessant honking sounds just drove me crazy. Never in my life had I felt more miserable, frustrated and hopeless. I had lost the job I always wanted to have just because of a traffic jam. That painful experience has taught me a valuable lesson. I should always …
