Should children be kind to their classmates?
I would say so. Children should be taught to be considerate to those who are kind to them. When they respect others, they tend to be treated the same way. That said, I believe it’s equally vital to educate children on how to stand up for themselves in case they have toxic classmates who are bullying them.
Can children in VN choose their deskmates?
To my best knowledge, most of them don’t. Besides, their seats change every semester (term). This is because Vietnamese educators believe that children are better off sitting next to those they do not usually hang out with. That way, they can get to know as many classmates as possible and learn how to deal with a variety of people, which means they are well-prepared for their future life as grownups.
What makes a good coworker?
I’d say that good coworkers are those who do their job duly and are supportive and kind to others. By delivering their best performance at whatever they do, they can facilitate the work of other members in their team. As well as this, by treating others respectfully and kindly, they help cultivate a stimulating work environment in which everyone can flourish. No one would want to work with those who are indolent or self-serving.
What makes a good manager?
I reckon that good managers are those who can motivate their subordinates. First and foremost, they must display impeccable interpersonal skills. They must listen to their subordinates because when employees feel listened to, they tend to be more confident to share their opinions and take initiatives. Secondly, managers should lead through examples and encouragement, not by order or command. And finally, they must be caring and supportive. It’s crucial to pay close attention to their staffs’ well-being and make sure they are appreciated at work.
Do you think managers should be friendly to their subordinates?
Well yes and no. An approachable boss seems less intimidating and more trustworthy, which might encourage their staff to share their ideas and thoughts. This helps create an open and effective communication flow that is deemed vital to the success of any business. On the flip side, managers who are too close to their subordinates might find it hard to assert their power when it comes to delegation or performance reviews. So the bottom line is that managers and directors should learn to draw the line so that they can maintain a healthy and fruitful relationship with their employees.
Do you think managers should be strict?
I don’t think so. A friendly, open and supportive working environment is vital to any business. Managers can be demanding but shouldn’t be strict or harsh. They need to be able to get along well with employees and let them have autonomy to take initiatives and be innovative in their work.
Do you think managers need training?
I would say so. Some might be born with special traits such as assertiveness and ambitiousness that make them a leader. However, in order to become a great leader or manager, they need to go through constant training. It doesn’t have to be professional training at schools though. As long as they keep an open mind to welcome new knowledge and wisdom and are willing to put them into practice, sooner or later they would master management and leadership skills….
