I am going to tell you about an upscale fashion brand called “SHE”, a big name in designer clothing market in Vietnam. The founder, also its chief designer, is a tactful, resourceful and talented woman. Since Vietnam is an emerging economy, the number of affluent consumers is increasing rapidly. She saw a huge potential for high-end fashion and quickly tapped into this niche market.

What I admire the most about this company is that they set a clear vision and a brilliant marketing strategy right from the beginning. By sponsoring well-known celebrities and allowing them to wear exquisite dresses to parties at no cost, the fashion house has managed to take advantage of enormous media coverage and publicity for free.

The brand is targeted at well-off women who look for unique design, sophisticated workmanship and top quality fabrics. A hand-made embroidery gown from them might cost a fortune. They are deliberately made in limited quantity to make the brand even much more desirable and thus more profitable. They now have two luxurious stores in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Thousands of women are craving for their gorgeous designs.

Though I’m not a fan of expensive clothing, I’m truly impressed by the way this business is run. Nowadays, it’s easy to enter the market but being selected is not, and this company can be an outstanding role model for other small businesses.
